A demand-driven care financing, more diversity in supply and providers of private care institutions, and a level playing field for private and regular care institutions. “Both new care institutions and traditional care institutions face the same challenge: delivering high-quality care to people who need it.” These are among the ‘recommendations’ that healthcare entrepreneur Gérard Thaens presents as expectations in his new booklet ‘The path to new care.’
‘The path to new care’ is the successor to ‘On the way to new care.’ This booklet by Gérard Thaens from 2015 provided a picture of the state of private initiatives for housing and care. “What we see is that over the past six years, the number of private care institutions has not only increased significantly but, more importantly, there has been a substantial professionalization,” says Thaens.
